Important Announcement Regarding the 2talk 028 89 Range

As of the 1 September 2009 all 2talk 02889 numbers will be updated to include an extra digit. This is a regulatory requirement imposed by the NZ number administration body.

What does this mean?

Callers will need to use the additional digit when dialing an 02889 number from outside the 2talk network. However, 2talk users do not need to change any of the settings on their phone or device they use to access 2talk and can continue to use their existing 02889 number and password to access 2talk live.

What is the new number format?

All 02889 numbers will now have an additional 9 in their format following the 02889. To illustrate:

Old Format: 028 89 4357
New Format: 028 89 9 4357

What do I need to do?

Please ensure you advise friends, family and colleagues of this change so that they can continue to successfully call your 2talk 02889 number after August 31st. Until then they should continue to use your existing number.

NOTE: This change does not affect our 028 25 range of numbers or other 2talk regional numbers. If you have any questions regarding this change please contact 2talk support at support@2talk.co.nz

2talk launches 3 cents per minute calls to 30 international destinations

Media Release: 20 March 2009

2talk, one of NZ's leading VoIP service providers, has set a new benchmark by reducing its rates to only 3 cents per minute for NZ National calls and for calls to 30 International destinations including China, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Canada.

Calls using 2talk's carrier-grade call termination service are now less expensive than many other suppliers who send their calls over the public internet, says Jude Flood, 2talk's General Manager.

The new 3 cent rates are available on any 2talk usage plan, all of which include the full range of 2talk services such as IP Trunking, 2talk's customer management portal and the option to move your existing numbers to 2talk.

For businesses using new generation IP-based phone systems, 2talk's IP Trunking product combined with our free local calls and these industry-leading low rates represents a pretty attractive option for any business with IP-savvy management, Flood continued. And our experienced team of resellers throughout New Zealand can help business that are unsure on how to proceed but want to explore the savings and productivity gains offered by moving to a VoIP solution, she concluded.
